Strategic Finance Leadership with Evan Winegard

Evan Winegard is a financial professional and business enthusiast based in Austin, Texas. He is the CFO for several organizations and is skilled at assisting companies of all sizes with strategic accounting, equity development, mergers and acquisitions, resource and change management, operations, and more. Over the past decade, he has worked with companies from the beginning stages of business development to organizations with over $50 million in revenue, across various industries including retail, not-for-profits, telecommunications, transportation and logistics, and technology. His practice areas include consolidated financial reporting, multi-unit accounting, financial systems implementation and conversions, cross-functional project management, team building and training, and data analytics skills.

Evan owns and operates his own business, Abstract CFO, where he serves as a concierge-style CFO. Through Abstract CFO, he works with a wide range of businesses, including startups, small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and mature companies, assisting them with tasks such as accounting and bookkeeping, report optimization, cash flow and budget models, and process improvement and automation. He also provides strategic financial planning, including capital and equity, scalable T&A and ERP systems, organization alignments, and internal and external audits.

Additionally, Evan serves as the Chief Financial Officer and business strategist for CHILMARKeting, a B2B company in the greater Austin area, providing financial services, strategic consultations, and business analysis to strengthen client portfolios and achieve their goals. With 15 years of experience in the financial sector, he excels in working with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to deliver effective solutions and manage change.

Evan is also the CFO for TRUE+WAY ASL (TWA), a student-focused online curriculum aimed at training people in conversational ASL to empower communication with the deaf community. He has been with TWA since December 2018.

Evan attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in economics and an Executive MBA in business. He is fluent in English and American Sign Language. Beyond his professional endeavors, Evan is dedicated to assisting organizations with impactful causes and missions. He serves on the board of the Texas School for the Deaf Foundation and the Greater Austin Foundation for the Deaf, and he previously served on the board for the South Dakota School for the Deaf Foundation.

In his leisure time, Evan enjoys sports and spending time with friends and family. He has a passion for helping others succeed, evident in his past role as a basketball coach for the United States of America Deaf Basketball (USADB), where he led his team to first place in the Midwest Athletic Association of the Deaf (MAAD). Evan also co-founded the Deaf Pickleball Association to bring awareness of Pickleball to the Deaf community through clinics, events, leagues, and tournaments.
